This page covers practical safer-gambling habits, what this site can and cannot do for you, and where independent help is linked. Everything here is for adults aged eighteen and over, a restriction repeated throughout this site, including on the front page.
Habits
- Decide the amount before you start. A limit set in a calm moment holds up better than one set in the middle of a session.
- Treat that amount as already spent. If you expect nothing back, a loss doesn't feel like a debt you need to recover.
- Never chase a loss. Raising stakes to win money back usually makes the loss bigger, because the odds don't change to suit your plans.
- Keep gambling out of borrowed money. Credit and loans turn a night's entertainment into repayments that last much longer.
- Take breaks. Stepping away gives you time to notice how long you have played and how much you have spent.
- Involve someone else early. When gambling stops feeling like entertainment, telling a person you trust makes it easier to act before things get worse.
Limits
Deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion are controls you arrange inside your own account at the gambling destination. This site has no account, no form and no server-side application, so nothing published here can switch one of these controls on, check it or enforce it.
This site does not verify anyone's age, and no gambling takes place on it. Any age check happens at the destination.
These pages contain no advertising or behavioural profiling network, so nothing here is targeted at a reader who has shown risky behaviour.
Help
Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to six independent gambling-help organisations. You can find them in the help links on this page:
- BeGambleAware
- Gamble Aware
- Gambling Therapy
- G GamCare Gambling Support: Starts Here
- GAM STOP
- NCPG
Each one is an independent source of help.
Links
The help links are the only outbound links on the whole site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking and are set to nofollow. They open in a separate tab on each organisation's own website. This site receives nothing when you follow one of them.
